Dr. Stefani LaFrenierre, MD
Psychiatric & Addiction Medicine
Dr. Stefani LaFrenierre is the founder of Resiliency Mind+Body Medicine® and a licensed Medical Doctor who is double board-certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine.
She received her Medical Degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed her Adult Psychiatry residency training at San Mateo Behavioral Health and Recovery Services. She also completed a fellowship through the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma with a certification in Global Mental Health, Trauma and Recovery.
Dr. LaFrenierre has expertise in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, psychotic disorders, autism spectrum, neuro-divergent spectrum, substance use and dual diagnosis disorders. She has performed in several leadership positions, including Medical Director of an addiction treatment group practice and as Chief Resident during her training.
Her treatment philosophy focuses on building resiliency through holistic, long-lasting changes to help her patients achieve a balanced and fulfilling life. She provides a warm, empathic, and active therapy style, and brings a conservative approach to medication while considering all aspects of health in treatment planning.
Dr. Heather Wong, DMSc, MPAS, PA-C, CAQ-Psych
Physician Associate
Dr. Heather Wong is a Doctorate level Physician Associate who has been working in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine for more than six years.
She is experienced in the treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, substance use and dual diagnosis disorders. She has performed in several leadership positions, including as an associate medical director managing medical and psychiatric needs for multiple facilities. She also has developed and implemented culturally competent care processes while in her previous leadership positions.
Prior to her work in Addiction and Psychiatry, she worked in Family Medicine at a FQHC clinic seeing pediatric, adult, geriatric and pregnant patients. Dr. Wong worked as a Biomedical Engineer developing medical devices in the past, but found her passion in working directly helping patients.
She is well versed in treatment modalities that include a holistic view of the body and mind.
Milinda Estrada, PA-C
Physician Associate
Milinda Estrada earned her Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Chapman University and completed her undergraduate degree at Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, with a major in Biology and a minor in Women's and Gender Studies.
As a Physician Associate at Resiliency Mind+Body Medicine®, Milinda brings a compassionate, patient-centered approach to psychiatric care. She is dedicated to working collaboratively with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that address the full spectrum of mental health needs.
Regina Dizon, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Regina Dizon is a passionate and highly experienced board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, proudly serving patients at Resiliency Mind+Body Medicine®.
Her background also includes roles as an emergency medical technician, medical assistant, and nursing assistant, giving her a broad foundation and a personal touch in caring for patients.
She integrates both holistic, nonpharmacological strategies and evidence-based pharmacological treatments to support overall mental wellness. Regina is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care that addresses the whole person.
Lorraine Nxumalo, PMHNP-BC
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Lorraine Nxumalo is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. She graduated from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science and has experience working across diverse psychiatric settings.
Lorraine believes in a collaborative approach to treatment where patients feel heard, supported, and actively involved in their care. She prioritizes accurate assessment, thoughtful diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning that addresses mental, emotional, and social well-being. Her goal is to equip patients with the knowledge, support, and tools needed to effectively manage their mental health and work toward lasting wellness.
As a PMHNP, Lorraine is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where each patient’s unique needs and beliefs are respected. Through compassionate care and evidence-based treatment, she works to help patients achieve their personal wellness goals.
Stefani Pateryn, DNP, PMHNP-BC, PHN
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Stefani is a Doctor of Nursing Practice and a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has registered nursing experience caring for patients ages 8 and older across the full spectrum of psychiatric diagnoses in the inpatient setting. In her four years of inpatient psychiatry, she has developed a strong passion for supporting individuals through acute mental health crises, practicing trauma-informed care, and building a therapeutic alliance grounded in trust and collaboration.
Stefani's previous work as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit RN, as a school nurse, and as a psychiatric nurse shaped her holistic, patient-centered perspective. In addition to her clinical work, she has served as a clinical instructor for Bachelor of Science in Nursing students during their mental health rotations, where she enjoyed teaching the next generation of nurses the importance of active listening, empathy, and building a therapeutic nurse–patient relationship to improve patient care and outcomes.
Her treatment approach is guided by evidence-based research and tailored to each individual's needs. She incorporates elements of psychoanalytic, cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused therapies into her practice, while emphasizing patient education and respect for patient autonomy in treatment decisions. She believes in approaching each person holistically, treating root causes, and creating comprehensive treatment plans that consider mental, emotional, physical, and social factors.

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Medical Humanities from the University of California, Irvine. Through her studies and three years of research in the cellular and developmental foundations of neuroscience, she developed a strong interest in the clinical applications of neuroplasticity.
With professional experience as a pediatric medical assistant and as a volunteer in free clinics and hospitals, Lauren has worked with diverse patient populations. These experiences have shaped her passion for empathetic, patient-centered care that honors each individual’s background and circumstances. She is committed to bridging science-based mechanisms with a holistic understanding of mental health and wellness, ensuring patients feel supported and in control of their healing journeys.
Jeffrey Phan
Interventional Psychiatry Tech
Jeffrey graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychological Science. During this time, he interned at the UCI Health and Wellness Center, where he collaborated with campus organizations in promoting mindfulness, mental health awareness, and student well-being. This experience reinforced his dedication to supporting individuals through holistic and evidence-based approaches to mental health care.
Following his graduation, Jeffrey gained more than 3 years of experience in both medical and behavioral settings, serving as a Care Coordinator and a Behavior Technician. These roles gave him valuable perspective on the emotional and logistical aspects of patient care, while also deepening his appreciation for individualized, compassionate treatment. Combined with his own personal relationship with mental health, this serves as the foundation for his belief that empathy and understanding are just as vital to healing as clinical expertise.
In his personal time, Jeffrey enjoys bouldering, running, and exploring new coffee shops.
Dana Yan
Interventional Psychiatry Tech
Dana completed her Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychological Sciences and Dance Performance at the University of California, Irvine, where her research centered on adolescent development, digital environments, and risk perception in young adults. Through her work as a researcher and a clinician, she developed a strong interest in the blend of research results and clinical applications of neuroscience.
Her professional experiences include working as a Behavioral Technician, where she gained hands-on experience delivering one-on-one ABA-based interventions. Dana has supported neurodivergent children and their families across home and school settings, building rapport and with passion and empathy. Her background conducting sensitive interviews and providing empathetic, trauma-informed support has shaped her commitment to ethical, patient-centered care that honors each individual’s experience.
In her daily life, Dana values balance and creativity. She enjoys playing video games, café hopping, spending time with friends, and exploring new restaurants.
Maryam Nabihah
Interventional Psychiatry Tech
Maryam graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a degree in Biological Sciences. She spent two years in a psychiatric research lab working one-on-one with patients with autism spectrum disorder, where she built meaningful connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds. She also led her own research project exploring how sleep quality and exercise may help reduce ASD symptom severity.
Maryam also worked as a Patient Experience Intern on the oncology unit at UCI Medical Center, supporting patients and families during challenging moments. She additionally volunteered with Crisis Text Line, providing real-time support to individuals in crisis. These experiences shaped her belief in a compassionate, human-centered approach to mental health care and the importance of making every patient feel heard and supported.
Outside of work, she enjoys coffee, reading, and anything cat-related
Cyrus Jimenez
Interventional Psychiatry Tech
Cyrus earned his Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from the University of California, Irvine, where he developed a strong interest in the biological and clinical foundations of mental health. His academic background sparked a growing passion for understanding how evidence-based treatments can be applied to support individuals with mental health disorders. With a solid foundation in neuroscience and research methodology, Cyrus aims to contribute to innovative and research-based approaches within the field of neurology.
Cyrus has gained hands–on clinical experience through work supporting patients as a physical therapy aide and applied behavioral analysis (ABA) therapist, where he built strong rapport while assisting individuals with neurological, physical, and developmental challenges. Through guided rehabilitation exercises, mobility training, and individualized behavior interventions, he gained a deeper understanding of the unique nature of each patient’s experience. These roles allowed Cyrus to witness to complexities of mental challenges, further strengthening his commitment to delivering compassionate, personalized care.
Rylee Hickman
Front Office Coordinator
Rylee serves as the Front Office Coordinator, bringing over five years of experience in administrative operations and client relations. With her approachable personality and strong communication skills, she helps create a welcoming and efficient experience for both patients and staff.
She studied Psychology at Lewis-Clark State College, where she also competed as a collegiate volleyball player. Originally from Oregon, Rylee enjoys spending her free time exploring the outdoors and has a particular fondness for animals.
Her positive energy, dedication, and genuine care for others make her a valued member of the team.
Cathleen Sliney
Front Office Coordinator
Cathleen is a dedicated administrative professional with a background in customer service. Through her experience, she has developed a strong attention to detail, and a thoughtful approach to communication.
She genuinely enjoys working with people and takes pride in creating a warm, welcoming experience for everyone she interacts with. She believes that even the smallest interactions can make a difference and strives to make each person feel heard, respected, and supported.
Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors, getting lost in a good book, and enjoying quality time with family and friends. She is passionate about meaningful work, genuine connection, and being part of a community where she can make a positive difference.
